I am an artist, art tutor and editor. My interests are figurative drawing and painting, and creative writing. I work in a Victorian basement which was once a builder’s workshop, and owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Grant, whose working space of many years in Jericho, Oxford, has provided me with a studio. I began art teaching after a career in publishing, and I enjoy working with words as much as I do making pictures.
I am currently teaching Fine Art on the Foundation Art and Design at Abingdon and Witney College. I also run a weekly life drawing class at Oxford Brookes University, and teach on the Contemporary Painting course at the Oxfordshire Visual Arts Development Agency. I graduated with an MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2011.
My involvement in recent art projects in the UK and internationally include River Runs, with Urbonas Studio, Giacomo Castagnola and Tracey Warr at Modern Art Oxford; residency at the Art Lab #1 in Bern; Ideas in the Making symposium at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History; and a London Fieldworks residency at Outlandia Treehouse in Glen Nevis, Scotland.
